Waar kunst en technologie elkaar vinden, geïnspireerd doornatuur, ambacht en innovatie met 3D kevers als signatuurwerk.

Charlie Moon (Charlotte Sophia de Jongh) groeide op tussen kunst en wetenschap. Die dubbele achtergrond vormt de basis voor haar werk, waarin technologie en ambacht samenkomen. Na haar opleidingen aan SintLucas en het AMFI ontwikkelde ze een multidisciplinaire stijl waarin Digitaal tekenen, AI, 3D-printing en traditionele technieken elkaar versterken.

Haar 3D-sculpturen, vooral de kleurrijke, fantasierijke kevers, zijn ontworpen met digital art, gemodelleerd en geprint in 3D, en met de hand afgewerkt in materialen als apoxy, acrylverf en goudblad. Elk stuk is uniek en vertelt een verhaal van verbinding tussen mens, natuur en machine.

Charlie exposeerde internationaal en werd in 2024 benoemd tot Visionary Artist door The HUG, een platform opgericht door Randi Zuckerberg.
Haar werk verscheen o.a. in Model Magazine, Trendvision Forecasting en Hillewaere x Christie’s Magazine.

Artist Statement

‘My deep fascination with nature and animals drives me to create worlds where humans and creatures are magically connected. I work with a variety of media—including artificial intelligence, textiles, 3D printing, digital illustration, and traditional painting—often combining them to craft innovative and unique pieces.

With a background that bridges both art and science—shaped by my studies at SintLucas and the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, and a childhood immersed in both disciplines—I’m drawn to the creative as well as the technical dimensions of art. During my travels through Oceania, I developed a profound appreciation for nomadic prints, which have become a lasting influence in my work. Before beginning a piece, I immerse myself in researching shapes, structures, colors, materials, and various species of flora and fauna.

My work celebrates the beauty and complexity of life by blending specialized techniques with personal stories and experiences. It offers a moment of refuge from the harshness of reality, inviting viewers to focus on the softer, more enchanting sides of existence.’
